PROJECT
The Furniture We Need (De møbler vi mangler)
INFO
During 3 Days of Design, Anker Bak showcased his furniture in the exhibition ‘The Furniture We Need’ at Kulturtårnet on Knippelsbro.
The exhibition unfolds along the tower’s staircase, where Anker’s vision, his furniture, and the Portrait of Persons in Need of Assistive Furniture are displayed. The narrow staircase serves as a gallery wall, bringing stories to life.
The main focus has been to merge the stories of users of assistive furniture in the presentation of Ankers designs, in order to show the importance of his work.
At the top of the tower, the exhibition concludes with a breathtaking view of the city in a small room designed for meaningful conversations.
All exhibition information is printed on textile, featuring brown mélange thread that complements the tower’s aesthetic. Textile was chosen to allow the banners to curve naturally, ensuring seamless integration with the staircase and the exhibition’s unconventional space.
